Akzo Nobel India (maker of Dulux paints) reported Q3 FY26 revenue of Rs 907.7 crore, down 13.6% year-on-year, mainly due to the slump sale of its Powder Coatings and International Research Center businesses in Q2 FY26. Excluding the divested business, revenue declined only 1% and volume grew 5.9%. Q3 profit after tax excluding exceptional items rose 5.9% to Rs 94.6 crore. For 9 months, PAT excluding exceptional items fell 19.5% to Rs 258.5 crore. Exceptional items of Rs 1,846.3 crore (pre-tax) were booked in 9M from the slump sale. On Dec 10, 2025, JSW Paints acquired 61.2% stake, becoming the new promoter. Parth Jindal joined as Chairman. Company name change to JSW Dulux Limited proposed.
JSW takeover complete with new leadership and brand rename planned. Headline numbers distorted by divestment; underlying business grew volumes and held margins.
