JSW Energy has completed a ₹4,000 crore QIP, allotting 7,61,90,476 equity shares at ₹525 per share. The issue was priced at a 1.69% discount to the floor price of ₹534.05, reflecting strong institutional demand. Two major investors — SBI Equity Hybrid Fund (48.4% of the issue) and GQG Partners Emerging Markets Equity Fund (24.1%) — together absorbed over 72% of the total allotment. The company stated the proceeds, combined with recent promoter preferential allotment and ₹3,150 crore from JSW Steel share monetisation, will be used to reduce net leverage and support its growth strategy targeting 30 GW capacity and 40 GWh energy storage by 2030.
The dilution increases share capital from 1,75,72,92,260 to 1,83,34,82,736 shares. The near-floor pricing and overwhelming demand from marquee global and domestic institutions signals strong confidence in JSW Energy's growth trajectory, while the capital raise meaningfully strengthens the balance sheet.
