JSW Energy has successfully completed a ₹4,000 crore Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP), issuing 7,61,90,476 equity shares at ₹525 per share (a premium of ₹515 over the ₹10 face value). The issue was priced at a 1.69% discount (₹9.05 per share) to the floor price. Major allottees include SBI Equity Hybrid Fund (48.4% of the issue) and GQG Partners Emerging Markets Equity Fund (24.1%), alongside other global investors such as BlackRock. The paid-up equity capital has increased from ₹1,757.29 crore to ₹1,833.48 crore. The company states the proceeds will strengthen its balance sheet, reduce net leverage, and support its growth strategy targeting 30 GW generation and 40 GWh storage capacity by 2030.
The QIP drew marquee global and domestic institutional investors, signalling strong market confidence. With ₹4,000 crore in fresh equity combined with promoter preferential allotment and JSW Steel share monetisation (₹3,150 crore), the company expects significant de-leveraging and improved bottom-line performance.
