The board approved raising up to Rs 5,000 crore through one or more private placements of rated, listed non-convertible debt securities. It also plans to seek shareholder approval for up to Rs 6,000 crore, the unused part of a Rs 10,000 crore fund-raising limit, through private or preferential share issues, institutional placement or other routes. A May 2026 institutional placement raised Rs 4,000 crore at Rs 525 per share, below the minimum price of Rs 534.05.
The raise can fund growth and refinancing but will increase debt and interest costs. Any share-based portion may dilute shareholders; pricing is not yet set.
