On the reaction day the stock moved 2.5 pts more than Nifty Midcap 150 and 2.8 pts more than its Power Generation peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
Consolidated Q2 revenue rose 23% to Rs 6,368.47 crore and profit after tax rose 38% to Rs 1,141.04 crore. Half-year revenue was Rs 11,575.60 crore and profit Rs 1,673.74 crore. Operating earnings margin before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation fell to 56.79% from 57.91%; debt-equity was 2.21 times. The board approved up to Rs 5,000 crore of listed bonds and Rs 6,000 crore of share or other eligible securities.
Q2 growth may support the stock, but half-year profit was nearly flat and planned borrowing or share issuance could raise leverage and dilute holders.
