JSW Steel reported standalone net profit of Rs 6,522 crore for FY26, up 11.7% from Rs 5,837 crore in FY25. Consolidated net profit surged to Rs 25,508 crore from Rs 3,491 crore, largely boosted by exceptional gains including Rs 1,449 crore from Salav unit sale and Rs 1,454 crore from Piombino buyback. Consolidated revenue grew 9.9% to Rs 1,85,470 crore. EBITDA margin expanded to 15.20% from 14.39% a year ago. The Board recommended dividend of Rs 7.10 per share. The auditor gave an unmodified (clean) opinion on both standalone and consolidated results.
Strong operational performance with margin expansion is positive for shareholders. However, the headline PAT growth is heavily inflated by one-time exceptional gains from asset sales, so underlying earnings quality should be assessed carefully.
