On the reaction day the stock moved 0.2 pts more than Nifty 100 and 1.2 pts more than its Iron & Steel peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
Fitch upgraded JSW Steels Long-Term Issuer Default Rating and senior unsecured bonds from BB to BB+ with Positive Outlook, off Rating Watch Positive. Triggered by asset sale proceeds to its JFE joint venture (INR373 billion in 2026). Net debt to EBITDA expected to improve to around 2.0x by FY27 from 2.5x in FY26. Further upgrade to BBB- possible if leverage stays below 2.0x over 18 to 24 months.
Positive for shareholders; may lower borrowing costs, supports stock on improved credit profile.
