On the reaction day the stock moved in line with Nifty Midcap 150 and 0.1 pts less than its Restaurants peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
Jubilant FoodWorks received a favorable order from the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal for FY 2020-21. The ITAT held the assessment order void ab initio on the basis of being time-barred. Earlier, the tax demand was reduced from Rs. 216.19 Cr to Rs. 190.21 Cr via a rectification order. This favorable ruling may further lower the demand, though the other party retains the right to appeal further.
Positive legal outcome could reduce tax demand further, but the other party may still appeal. Mildly positive for shareholders.
