French authorities (National Directorate of Intelligence and Customs Investigations) have initiated a formal judicial investigation against Jyoti CNC's wholly owned subsidiary Huron Graffenstaden SAS and certain employees over alleged violations of EU export controls on dual-use machinery. As interim measures, the Director General of Huron Graffenstaden SAS has been temporarily barred from duties, bank accounts totaling approximately EUR 4.0 million have been seized, and two residential properties owned by Jyoti SAS have been seized. Huron Graffenstaden SAS has refuted the allegations and is contesting them with legal counsel. The company clarified that its standalone Indian operations contributed over 85% of group revenue and that it does not foresee any immediate adverse impact on its own business or operations.
Near-term overhang on the stock is likely given the headline risk and seized assets, but the financial exposure is limited to the French subsidiary (~15% of group revenue). Investors should monitor the formal outcome of the French investigation, as an adverse ruling could result in fines, further asset freezes, or operational disruption at the European subsidiary.
