K M Sugar Mills reported FY26 results with revenue from operations at Rs 65,838 lakhs, essentially flat compared to Rs 65,901 lakhs in FY25. However, profit after tax surged 50% to Rs 5,342 lakhs from Rs 3,555 lakhs in the prior year. EPS improved to Rs 5.81 from Rs 3.86. EBITDA (profit before tax plus finance costs) rose to Rs 8,426 lakhs from Rs 6,709 lakhs. The company appointed M/s Aman Malviya & Associates as cost auditors for FY27, and added Smt. Naina Jhunjhunwala as Additional Director. Salary revision for related party Mr. Vatsal Jhunjhunwala (Vice President, son of MD) up to Rs 10 lakhs/month was approved, subject to shareholder nod. Statutory auditors M/s Mehrotra & Mehrotra issued an unmodified opinion.
The sharp jump in profitability despite flat revenue signals better cost control and operational efficiency, which could be positive for the stock. Related party compensation increase may attract minor shareholder scrutiny. The clean audit opinion with no qualifications is reassuring.
