K&R Rail Engineering reported weak Q2 FY26 results with standalone revenue from operations crashing to Rs 3,386 lakhs, down about 61.5% from Rs 8,797 lakhs a year ago. Half-year revenue fell to Rs 12,183 lakhs versus Rs 26,027 lakhs in the same period last year, a drop of roughly 53%. Standalone profit after tax for Q2 was just Rs 24.61 lakhs and Rs 33.21 lakhs for the half year, compared to Rs 547.17 lakhs for the full FY25. The company attributed the weak quarter to a loss on sale of old equipment and unused assets after completing one of its projects. Operating cash flow remained negative at Rs (461) lakhs on a standalone basis and Rs (428) lakhs consolidated. The auditor (J Singh & Associates) issued a clean limited review report with no qualifications.
Sharp revenue and profit decline signals business slowdown after project completion, though the drop in trade receivables (from Rs 17,632 to Rs 3,681 lakhs) and trade payables suggests a project has wound down rather than demand collapse. Short-term shareholders should watch for new order wins, as the current run-rate is not enough to support prior-year earnings momentum.
