K&R Rail Engineering reported a weak quarter ended December 2025, with consolidated revenue from operations plunging to Rs 1,185.87 lakhs, down sharply from Rs 3,376.86 lakhs in the previous quarter and from Rs 15,221.40 lakhs in the same quarter last year. The company slipped into a loss with a consolidated profit after tax of negative Rs 86.46 lakhs versus a profit of Rs 642.80 lakhs a year ago, and a standalone loss of Rs 84.65 lakhs versus a Rs 636.49 lakh profit earlier. Earnings per share turned negative at minus Rs 0.23 (consolidated) and minus Rs 0.25 (standalone). Management explained the loss was partly due to selling old equipment and unused assets on completion of a project, leading to a loss on fixed assets. The statutory auditor issued an unqualified limited review report on both standalone and consolidated results.
The dramatic revenue fall and swing to losses signal significant business slowdown or project completion issues, which is negative for near-term sentiment and may weigh on the stock. The exceptional loss from asset disposal suggests a one-time hit, but the underlying revenue contraction warrants close monitoring.
