Kaira Can Company reported a strong Q1 FY26 with total income from operations rising to Rs 7,298 lakhs from Rs 6,276 lakhs a year ago, a growth of about 16%. Net profit jumped to Rs 103.36 lakhs from Rs 80.72 lakhs, a 28% year-on-year increase, while profit before tax rose nearly 15% to Rs 163.79 lakhs. The Tin Containers segment, which contributes over 95% of revenue, grew around 21% and its profit rose about 33% to Rs 209.91 lakhs. The Ice-Cream Cones (Waffles & Wafers) segment continued to struggle, with revenue falling roughly 37% and the segment posting a loss of Rs 26.33 lakhs versus a small loss last year. Statutory auditors G D Apte & Co issued an unmodified (clean) limited review opinion on the results.
The 28% profit growth and clean audit opinion are positive for shareholders, supported by robust performance in the core Tin Containers business. However, the deepening losses in the Ice-Cream Cones segment remain a concern and may cap upside if not addressed.
