Kajaria Ceramics board approved a buyback of up to 21.5 lakh equity shares (1.35% of paid-up capital) at Rs. 1,380 per share for an aggregate of up to Rs. 296.70 crore. The buyback price represents a 15.57% premium over NSE and 15.73% over BSE closing prices on April 21, 2026. The company also reported standalone profit after tax of Rs. 456.77 crore for FY2026, up significantly from Rs. 204.14 crore in FY2025. Total dividend for FY2026 is Rs. 14 per share (Rs. 8 interim paid + Rs. 6 final recommended), versus Rs. 9 per share in FY2025. Additional approvals include Rs. 210 crore expansion of the Srikalahasti tile plant, Rs. 45 crore subscription to preference shares of subsidiary Kerovit Global, and Rs. 50 crore acquisition of preference shares in subsidiary Kajaria Bathware.
The buyback at a ~15.6% premium provides immediate value to selling shareholders and signals management confidence in the stock's intrinsic value. The near-doubling of profit and 56% increase in dividend demonstrate strong operational performance and are positive indicators for retained shareholders.
