Kakatiya Cement Sugar & Industries reported a net loss of Rs 322.28 lakhs in Q1 FY26, more than double the Rs 154.02 lakhs loss posted in Q1 FY25. Revenue from operations fell about 15% YoY to Rs 2,555.98 lakhs from Rs 3,002.84 lakhs. The sugar segment was the main drag, with revenue plunging from Rs 1,253.11 lakhs to Rs 570.26 lakhs and swinging from a profit of Rs 236.55 lakhs to a loss of Rs 181.81 lakhs. The cement segment showed improvement, narrowing its loss to Rs 88.78 lakhs from Rs 259.47 lakhs, and finance costs dropped sharply to Rs 4.90 lakhs from Rs 167.79 lakhs. The auditor (M. Anandam & Co.) issued a clean limited review report with no qualifications.
Continued losses and falling revenue signal ongoing operational stress, particularly in the sugar business, which is a negative for shareholders. However, the sharp reduction in finance costs and improvement in the cement segment offer some silver lining, and the clean audit opinion avoids additional governance concerns.
