The Hon'ble NCLT, Amaravati Bench, admitted an insolvency petition filed by Union Bank of India against Kallam Textiles Ltd under Section 7 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016. The admitted default stands at Rs. 210.49 crore as of 31 October 2025. The account turned non-performing on 29 June 2023. The NCLT has appointed Mr. Chillale Rajesh (IBBI Registration No. IBBI/IPA-001/IP-P00699/2017-2018/11226) as the Interim Resolution Professional. Moratorium under Section 14 of the IBC has been declared, suspending all suits, proceedings, and enforcement actions against the company. The suspended Board of Directors will now report to the IRP, who will manage the company's affairs as a going concern.
This is a critical negative development for shareholders. The company's management control has been transferred to the IRP, all creditor recovery proceedings are stayed, and the stock is now in a distressed situation pending a resolution plan or potential liquidation.
