Kalpataru Projects International (KPIL) said its branch office in Eswatini received a tax assessment order from the Eswatini Revenue Service for FY 2022-23 to 2024-25. The order demands tax and a fine of about Rs 99.12 lakhs over alleged wrongful addition of offshore supply revenue and disallowance of certain branch expenses. The company plans to file objections within prescribed timelines and stated the demand will not have any significant impact on its finances or operations.
