Kamat Hotels (I) Limited reported unaudited Q1 FY26 (quarter ended June 30, 2025) results along with the limited review report from statutory auditor N.A. Shah Associates LLP. Standalone revenue from operations rose to ₹5,615.98 lakhs (from ₹5,031.08 lakhs in Q1 FY25, up ~11.6%), while standalone profit after tax jumped sharply to ₹849.82 lakhs (from ₹40.55 lakhs in Q1 FY25). EPS stood at ₹2.80 versus ₹0.15. The consolidated revenue was ₹8,264.63 lakhs with a PAT of ₹423.02 lakhs. The board also approved the appointment of DM & Associates as Secretarial Auditors for 5 years, reappointed Kirtane & Pandit LLP as Internal Auditor for FY25-26, approved remuneration for Executive Chairman Dr. Vithal V. Kamat and Executive Director Mr. Vishal V. Kamat, and reappointed Mr. Vilas Koranne as Independent Director for a second 5-year term. The 38th AGM is scheduled for September 26, 2025 via video conferencing.
Strong quarter with a dramatic improvement in profitability compared to a weak base, which is likely to be viewed positively by shareholders. However, the auditor flagged material uncertainty on the going concern status of two subsidiaries (OHPPL and MPPL), an ongoing Enforcement Directorate investigation, and an unresolved lease dispute – these are watchpoints that could weigh on sentiment.
