Kanishk Steel Industries reported FY25 total revenue of Rs 37,164.23 lakhs, down from Rs 39,474.07 lakhs in FY24, a decline of about 6%. Gross sales stood at Rs 36,000.76 lakhs versus Rs 36,808.03 lakhs last year. Despite lower revenue, net profit jumped sharply to Rs 832.10 lakhs from Rs 260.02 lakhs in FY24, with EPS rising to Rs 2.93 from Rs 0.91. However, the Q4 standalone result showed a net loss of Rs 160.58 lakhs (though improved from a Rs 349.76 lakhs loss in Q4 FY24). The profit surge was largely supported by non-operating gains, including a Rs 1,021 lakh profit on sale of property, plant and equipment and Rs 692 lakhs from fair valuation of investments. The statutory auditor (Chaturvedi & Partners) issued an unmodified opinion.
Shareholders should note that headline PAT growth is heavily boosted by one-time gains (asset sales and investment revaluation) rather than core operations. Revenue contraction and a sharp drop in operating cash flow (from Rs 3,346 lakhs to Rs 137 lakhs) signal weak underlying business momentum, while the Q4 loss may concern short-term investors.
