Kanpur Plastipack Limited, a manufacturer and exporter of FIBCs (jumbo bags), PP multifilament yarn, and woven fabrics, has received a credit rating upgrade from CRISIL. The new long-term rating is CRISIL BBB+/Stable, which is an upgrade from the earlier ACUITE BBB/Stable rating. The rating covers bank loan facilities of Rs 80 crore (Rs 75 crore export packing credit and Rs 5 crore standby line of credit from SBI). The upgrade reflects strong business performance: revenue grew 26.4% to Rs 628.61 crore in FY25 (from Rs 497.41 crore in FY24), operating margin improved sharply to 9.5% (from 5.43%), and profit after tax jumped to Rs 11.10 crore (from Rs 0.81 crore). The company also cleared the debt taken for its CPP film unit, which was shut down, bringing outstanding debt down to Rs 24 crore as of July 2025. Exports contribute around 66% of revenue, with strong demand from Europe, the US, and South America.
Positive signal for shareholders — the rating upgrade reflects improved financial health, debt reduction, and strong profit growth, which could lower future borrowing costs and boost investor confidence in the stock.
