Kansai Nerolac Paints reported FY2026 standalone revenue of Rs 7,739.23 crore, up 3.2% from Rs 7,496.71 crore in FY2025. However, standalone profit after tax dropped significantly to Rs 619.85 crore from Rs 1,021.24 crore in the previous year, a decline of about 39%. The consolidated PAT also fell to Rs 575.84 crore from Rs 1,109.33 crore. The profit decline is largely due to exceptional items: FY2026 had net exceptional charges of Rs 60.70 crore (including Rs 44.72 crore for new labour code implementation and Rs 10.22 crore from a fire incident at Ghaziabad warehouse), whereas FY2025 included a one-time profit of Rs 665.44 crore from sale of investment property at Lower Parel. The company recommended a dividend of 250% (Rs 2.50 per share) versus 375% (Rs 3.75 per share) last year which included a special dividend. The statutory auditors issued an unqualified opinion.
The stock may see mixed reaction as revenue growth was modest at 3.2% while PAT declined sharply due to non-recurring gains last year and fire-related losses this year. The reduced dividend payout signals lower cash retention compared to the previous year.
