Kansai Nerolac Paints reported standalone revenue from operations of Rs. 2,087.42 crore for Q1 FY26, up 1.8% from Rs. 2,050.35 crore in Q1 FY25. However, EBITDA fell 6.7% YoY to Rs. 311.97 crore, and profit before tax declined 4.1% to Rs. 310.08 crore. Standalone PAT stood at Rs. 230.85 crore vs Rs. 241.10 crore, with EPS of Rs. 2.86 (vs Rs. 2.98). On a consolidated basis, revenue rose to Rs. 2,162.03 crore while PAT slipped to Rs. 215.59 crore. The statutory auditor S R B C & Co LLP issued an unqualified review report. Management cited early monsoon impact, a North India disruption in April hurting decorative sales, while automotive and performance coatings performed well.
Margins came under pressure as input-cost tailwinds were not enough to offset weak decorative volume growth and higher other expenses. For shareholders, the picture is mixed — topline is stable but profitability is contracting, which may weigh on sentiment in the near term despite a hopeful festive-season outlook.
