Kimia Biosciences reported a strong turnaround in FY25, with profit before tax swinging from a loss of ₹718.37 lakhs in FY24 to a profit of ₹1,363.42 lakhs, and net profit improving from a loss of ₹530.87 lakhs to a profit of ₹961.24 lakhs. Revenue from operations grew about 13% YoY to ₹11,892.08 lakhs (vs ₹10,487.65 lakhs), while total expenses dropped to ₹10,660.69 lakhs from ₹11,370.20 lakhs, lifting operating leverage. EPS turned positive at ₹2.03 against a loss per share of ₹1.12. Non-current borrowings were sharply reduced to ₹1,037 lakhs from ₹2,140 lakhs, improving the balance sheet, though total equity remains modest at ₹996 lakhs. The statutory auditor, Neeraj Arora & Associates, issued an unmodified (clean) opinion on the results.
The swing back to profitability and steep reduction in long-term debt signal a material improvement in the company's financial health, likely to be viewed positively by investors. However, total equity is still thin and overall borrowings remain elevated relative to equity, so sustainability of the turnaround will be key.
