Kimia Biosciences, a pharmaceutical company, reported its Q2 FY26 results with revenue from operations rising to ₹3,399.93 lakhs from ₹2,817.86 lakhs in Q2 FY25, a growth of about 20.7% year-on-year. For the half year (H1 FY26), revenue grew 13.8% to ₹5,758.34 lakhs. However, profit after tax fell sharply — Q2 PAT dropped to ₹101.51 lakhs (vs ₹161.34 lakhs) and H1 PAT nearly halved to ₹161.91 lakhs (vs ₹305.04 lakhs). The main pressure came from a sharp jump in finance costs (₹174.71 lakhs in Q2 vs ₹103.93 lakhs earlier) and higher other expenses. EPS for the half year stood at ₹0.34, down from ₹0.64 a year ago. The auditor issued an unqualified review report.
Despite healthy topline growth, the steep fall in profits and rising finance costs signal margin pressure and higher borrowing costs for shareholders. The stock may react negatively given the disconnect between revenue expansion and bottom-line contraction, but improving trade receivable collections and positive operating cash flow are small positives.
