Kopran Limited reported its unaudited Q1 FY26 results with consolidated revenue from operations at Rs. 13,521.62 lakhs, down about 3% from Rs. 13,943.65 lakhs in Q1 FY25. Consolidated profit after tax fell sharply to Rs. 744.93 lakhs from Rs. 1,109.54 lakhs, a drop of nearly 33%, with EPS declining from Rs. 2.30 to Rs. 1.54. On a standalone basis, revenue rose modestly to Rs. 5,133.48 lakhs from Rs. 4,960.70 lakhs, but standalone PAT slipped to Rs. 351.81 lakhs from Rs. 424.59 lakhs. EBITDA margin (PBT plus finance cost plus depreciation, divided by total income) compressed from around 14.6% to 12.1% on a consolidated basis. Statutory auditor Khandelwal Jain & Co. issued an unmodified review opinion. Separately, the board appointed Mr. Chandresh Gandhi as an independent director, named Mr. Surendra Somani as Chairman & Managing Director effective January 1, 2026, accepted the resignation of Chairman Mr. Susheel Somani citing ill health, and appointed M/s Smita Prabhu & Associates as secretarial auditor for five years. The 66th AGM is scheduled for September 11, 2025.
Mixed-to-weak quarter for shareholders: top line dipped and profits fell sharply on a consolidated basis, which may pressure the stock in the near term despite a clean auditor review. Leadership transition with Surendra Somani moving from Executive Vice-Chairman to Chairman & MD brings continuity but the resignation of long-time Chairman Susheel Somani on health grounds adds a layer of uncertainty at the top.
