Kreon Finnancial Services reported a strong turnaround in Q1 FY26 with total revenue from operations of Rs. 1,020.73 lakhs, up 41% from the previous quarter (Rs. 721.39 lakhs) and more than double the Rs. 479.97 lakhs earned in Q1 FY25. Profit after tax surged to Rs. 377.31 lakhs from just Rs. 20.80 lakhs a year earlier. This is a major swing from the FY25 full-year loss of Rs. 414.14 lakhs. Earnings per share stood at Rs. 1.87 versus Rs. 0.10 in the year-ago quarter. The company also improved its reserves to Rs. 1,484.66 lakhs from Rs. 1,072.88 lakhs at year-end. Other income includes Rs. 122.24 lakhs of bad debt recoveries, which partly boosted the bottom line. No interim dividend was declared.
Sharp revenue and profit growth signals a strong recovery for shareholders, with the company swinging from a full-year loss to a healthy quarterly profit. The stock may see positive momentum, though investors should note that bad debt recoveries inflated other income and ongoing bad debt charges of Rs. 179.55 lakhs remain a concern.
