Kuantum Papers reported a 63.6% decline in net profit to Rs 41.95 crore for FY26 versus Rs 115.18 crore in FY25. Revenue from operations fell marginally to Rs 1,093.16 crore from Rs 1,107.04 crore, while profit before tax dropped sharply to Rs 56.55 crore from Rs 155.38 crore. The decline is attributed to higher finance costs (Rs 46.36 crore vs Rs 39.30 crore), increased cost of materials (Rs 395.69 crore vs Rs 357.41 crore), and higher depreciation. The Board recommended a dividend of Rs 2.50 per share (250% on face value of Re. 1), subject to shareholder approval. Statutory auditors O P Bagla & Co LLP issued an unmodified (clean) opinion on the financial results.
Significant profit decline raises concerns about profitability and cost management; however, positive operating cash flow of Rs 219.16 crore and clean audit opinion provide some comfort to investors.
