Kundan Minerals and Metals Limited (formerly Eastern Sugar & Industries Limited) submitted its audited financial results for Q4 and FY25 along with the auditor's report. On a consolidated basis, the company reported a strong turnaround with profit after tax of approximately ₹125.8 crore in FY25 compared to a loss of around ₹52.7 crore in FY24. Revenue from operations grew sharply year-on-year, supported by the acquisition of 100% stake in Kundan Concentrates Private Limited, a common-control transaction given effect from October 4, 2023. The company also acquired a 49% stake in Kundan Gold Mines Private Limited (accounted as an associate) and set up a new foreign subsidiary, Kundan Venture FZCO, in Dubai. Statutory auditor Ashwani & Associates issued an unmodified (clean) opinion on both the standalone and consolidated results, and FY24 comparatives were restated.
The sharp swing from a loss to a sizeable profit, combined with a clean audit opinion, is a positive signal for shareholders. The common-control acquisition inflates prior-year comparatives, so the underlying organic growth should be viewed with some caution, but the overall result and clean audit are likely to support near-term sentiment.
