Kusam Electrical Industries reported strong FY25 results with revenue from operations rising to Rs 1,007.38 lakhs from Rs 713.78 lakhs in FY24, a growth of about 41%. Profit after tax jumped sharply to Rs 30.52 lakhs from Rs 8.66 lakhs, more than tripling year-on-year. For Q4 alone, revenue grew to Rs 324.19 lakhs (from Rs 187.50 lakhs) and the company swung to a profit of Rs 11.63 lakhs versus a loss earlier. However, operating cash flow turned sharply negative at Rs (108.65) lakhs compared to a positive Rs 76.73 lakhs last year, mainly due to a large inventory build-up. Cash and bank balances fell to just Rs 0.21 lakhs from Rs 111.88 lakhs. The auditor (RAWK & Associates) issued an unqualified, clean opinion with no qualifications or adverse remarks.
Strong top-line and profit growth is positive for shareholders, but the negative operating cash flow and near-empty cash balance raise short-term liquidity concerns despite the improved profitability. Investors should watch for working capital normalisation in coming quarters.
