La Tim Metal & Industries reported audited results for FY25 with revenue from operations falling to ₹25,658 lakhs from ₹34,849 lakhs in FY24, a decline of roughly 26%. The company slipped into a net loss of ₹85.5 lakhs for the year, compared to a net profit of ₹765.2 lakhs in the previous year, with the loss mainly driven by lower sales in the Steel & Steel Products segment. For Q4 FY25 alone, the company posted a loss of ₹574 lakhs versus a profit of ₹320 lakhs in Q4 FY24. Operating cash flow remained negative at ₹(393.6) lakhs (though improved from ₹(771) lakhs last year), and non-current borrowings dropped sharply from ₹3,336 lakhs to ₹15 lakhs as long-term debt was reclassified to current borrowings. Statutory auditor Dhirubhai Shah & Co LLP issued an unmodified (clean) opinion, and the Board appointed Akkad Mehta & Co LLP as the new internal auditor for FY26.
Shareholders should note the swing from profit to loss, the sharp revenue contraction, and continued negative operating cash flow, which signal stress in the core steel business. The clean audit opinion, fully utilised rights issue proceeds, and improved working-capital management offer some comfort, but near-term earnings recovery will be the key thing to watch.
