Lakshmi Electrical Control Systems reported Q2 FY26 revenue of ₹5,832 lakhs, up about 9% YoY, taking H1 FY26 revenue to ₹11,072 lakhs (up ~5.6% from ₹10,484 lakhs). Q2 net profit recovered to ₹48.26 lakhs from a loss of ₹18.92 lakhs a year ago, and H1 PAT rose ~65% to ₹105.30 lakhs versus ₹63.78 lakhs. However, the PAT jump was largely aided by a deferred tax credit of ₹16.66 lakhs vs a ₹93 lakh deferred tax expense last year. Core profitability actually weakened — H1 profit before tax fell ~43% to ₹108.83 lakhs, and the Plastics segment losses widened sharply to ₹127 lakhs from ₹16 lakhs. Operating cash flow turned negative at ₹(893) lakhs in H1 versus a positive ₹223 lakhs last year, driven by higher receivables and inventory build-up.
Mixed bag for shareholders — top-line growth and headline PAT recovery mask weak core earnings, sharp PBT compression, a worsening Plastics segment, and a swing to negative operating cash flow, which may weigh on near-term sentiment despite the improved EPS.
