Acuité Ratings & Research has upgraded Laxmi India Finance Limited's credit rating from Acuite A-/Positive to Acuite A/Stable. The upgrade covers bank loan facilities of Rs. 1,576.86 crore, existing Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs) of Rs. 80 crore, and a new rating has been assigned to proposed NCDs of Rs. 100 crore. All long-term ratings now stand at Acuite A with a Stable outlook. The rating action was issued on March 20, 2026, and was carried out across instruments with multiple lenders including SBI, Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda, IDFC First Bank, and several small finance banks.
The upgrade from A- to A signals improved creditworthiness and lower perceived default risk, which is positive for shareholders and debt investors. However, the outlook has been revised from Positive to Stable, suggesting the agency sees continued stability rather than further near-term improvement.
