Lemon Tree Hotels material subsidiary Berggruen Hotels received a GST intimation in Form DRC-01A from the Bengaluru Commercial Tax (Audit) office for FY 2022-23. The proposed demand includes GST of about Rs 2.94 crore, interest of about Rs 2.31 crore, and penalty of about Rs 37.66 lakh, totaling roughly Rs 5.63 crore. Issues include turnover mismatch between GSTR-3B and GSTR-1, unsubstantiated input tax credit, and unexplained scrap sale income. The subsidiary plans to file objections by September 21, 2026 and may pursue further legal recourse.
Moderate tax demand on subsidiary; company says no material impact. Objections to be filed, outcome uncertain.
