LT Foods has shared an update on its fellow-subsidiary Ecopure Specialities Limited, which has received a preliminary notice from the US Department of Commerce imposing a 340% countervailing duty (CVD) on organic soybean meal exports for the period January–December 2023, amounting to approximately Rs. 50 crore. The company plans to seek an Administrative Review of the CVD and is confident of a favorable outcome. LT Foods has stated that, based on currently available information, it does not expect any material impact on future earnings or cash flows. This is a continuation of an earlier disclosure made on June 20, 2025.
While the 340% preliminary duty is steep, the company's confidence in overturning it and its view that there will be no material impact on earnings/cash flow should reassure shareholders. However, the final ruling remains a key risk to monitor, especially since Ecopure is a fellow-subsidiary.
