Lyons Corporate Market Ltd, a small Kolkata-based NBFC, filed its 32nd Annual Report for FY25. Total income rose about 42% to Rs. 150.91 lakhs from Rs. 106.40 lakhs in FY24, and profit before exceptional items and tax jumped to Rs. 22.73 lakhs from Rs. 2.19 lakhs. However, an exceptional item of Rs. 30 lakhs pushed the company into a pre-tax loss of Rs. 7.27 lakhs and a net loss of Rs. 42.87 lakhs (versus a Rs. 2.17 lakh loss last year). Retained earnings are negative at Rs. -215.42 lakhs, so no dividend was declared. The statutory auditor (SRB & Associates) issued an unqualified opinion. Notably, the BSE trading suspension on the stock was revoked on 13 September 2024, and CFO Sanjiv Agarwal passed away on 6 May 2025, with Managing Director Suvabrata De taking over as CFO.
Revenue growth is encouraging for a tiny NBFC, but rising losses and accumulated deficit (Rs. 215+ lakhs) signal weak profitability and no near-term dividends for shareholders. Revocation of the BSE trading suspension is a positive for liquidity, but the stock remains very small and thinly traded.
