Madhusudan Industries Ltd reported Q1 FY26 standalone profit after tax of ₹226.80 lakhs, down roughly 26% from ₹307.24 lakhs in Q1 FY25. Revenue from operations was ₹31.96 lakhs versus ₹31.00 lakhs a year ago — essentially flat. Almost all of the profit came from Other Income of ₹295.61 lakhs, which per the notes includes fair value gains/losses on investments, since the company's operations are limited to leasing its own properties (no reportable operating segments). EPS for the quarter came in at ₹4.22, compared to ₹5.72 in Q1 FY25. The statutory auditors (N. M. Nagri & Co) issued an unmodified limited review opinion, and the 79th AGM has been called for 20 August 2025.
Earnings are driven mainly by mark-to-market movements on the investment book, not core operations, so quarter-to-quarter results will swing with market valuations. The YoY PAT fall reflects lower fair value gains in Q1 FY26 versus Q1 FY25, and this quarter's earnings should not be read as a steady run-rate.
