Magadh Sugar posted a Q1 FY27 net loss of Rs 12.22 cr versus a profit of Rs 22.34 lakh a year ago. Revenue from operations fell to Rs 310.54 cr from Rs 333.04 cr. Sugar segment turned loss-making at around Rs 9.99 cr loss against Rs 4.56 cr profit earlier. Distillery profit also declined. Board also appointed Lt Gen Rakesh Kapoor (Retd.) as Independent Director for 5 years from 4 Aug 2026, subject to shareholder approval.
Weak quarter with revenue decline and swing to loss may pressure the stock; new independent director adds defence and strategy experience to the board.
