The State Tax Officer in Chennai issued a favourable order dropping a GST demand of about Rs 363.08 crore (Rs 181.54 crore tax plus Rs 181.54 crore penalty) against Mahindra Holidays. The demand was originally raised in June 2025 for FY 2018-19 over reporting of IGST on club membership services instead of CGST and SGST. With this order, the tax proceedings are now fully concluded in the company's favour, removing a sizeable potential liability.
Positive for shareholders; about Rs 363 crore potential tax liability cleared, strengthening earnings outlook and removing a key overhang.
