The Board, at its September 1, 2026 meeting, approved buying back equity shares (face value Rs 2) from the open market via NSE and BSE. The maximum buyback price is Rs 171 per share and total outlay capped at Rs 169.29 crore (about 8.66 percent of paid-up capital and free reserves). Indicatively up to 99 lakh shares may be bought back, with at least Rs 126.97 crore (75 percent) to be used. The Rs 171 price represents around a 50 percent premium over closing market price (Rs 122.48 on BSE) and 55 to 57 percent over recent volume weighted averages. The offer opens within 4 working days of announcement and closes within 66 working days.
Positive for shareholders; company returning capital at a steep premium to market price, which may support the stock in the near term.
