Manappuram Finance's Board approved unaudited financial results for Q1FY26 (quarter ended June 30, 2025). Consolidated revenue from operations fell to about Rs. 2,262 crore from Rs. 2,512 crore a year earlier, and consolidated profit before tax dropped sharply to Rs. 101.52 crore from Rs. 752.80 crore, mainly because the microfinance subsidiary (Asirvad) posted a segment loss of Rs. 437.27 crore. Standalone numbers remained healthy, with profit after tax of Rs. 392.11 crore on total income of Rs. 1,738.54 crore. The Board declared an interim dividend of Rs. 0.50 (25%) per share with a record date of August 14, 2025. V.P. Nandakumar (MD) will take over as Chairman from August 28, 2025, replacing Dr. Shailesh Mehta who retires after his second term as Independent Director. The company also infused capital into Asirvad by subscribing to 8.33 crore equity shares at Rs. 60/share.
Short-term, shareholders get a modest interim dividend, but the weak consolidated performance driven by the microfinance arm may weigh on the stock. The leadership transition is smooth (MD becoming Chairman) and management change in senior personnel is routine, so no major governance concern.
