Manappuram Finance's board approved unaudited Q1 FY26 (quarter ended June 30, 2025) results and declared an interim dividend of Rs. 0.50 per share (25% on face value of Rs. 2), with record date set as August 14, 2025. Consolidated Profit After Tax stood at Rs. 556.52 crores vs Rs. 636.41 crores in Q1 FY25, a decline of roughly 12.5%, while total revenue from operations fell about 10% YoY to Rs. 2,262 crores. The microfinance subsidiary Asirvad reported a segment loss of Rs. 437.27 crores before tax, dragging overall performance; the company infused Rs. 500 crores into Asirvad during the quarter and transferred stressed loans worth Rs. 37.96 crores to an ARC, booking a Rs. 12.65 crore loss. Mr. V.P. Nandakumar (current MD) will become Chairman effective August 28, 2025, following Dr. Shailesh Mehta's retirement after completing two terms as Independent Director. The standalone PAT was Rs. 392.11 crores with EPS of Rs. 4.63, debt-equity ratio of 2.49x, and capital adequacy ratio of 24.77%.
Positive for shareholders due to the interim dividend payout, but the YoY decline in consolidated profit and large microfinance losses may pressure sentiment. The orderly chairman transition from Independent Director to MD-led chairmanship is a governance change investors should watch.
