On the reaction day the stock moved 2.3 pts less than Nifty Midcap 150 and 1.8 pts less than its Pharmaceuticals peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
Q2 consolidated revenue rose 20.8% year on year to Rs 3,697.16 crore, but profit after tax fell 21.3% to Rs 520.18 crore and operating margin narrowed to about 25% from 27.8%. Six-month operating cash inflow was Rs 1,321.07 crore. The review was unmodified, but auditors highlighted tax cases involving Rs 1,825.66 crore of disputed expenditure, which management says has no material impact. Prior figures were restated after an amalgamation.
Revenue growth and cash generation are positive, but the profit decline, narrower margin and pending tax cases may weigh on the stock.
