Maruti Suzuki received a Final Assessment Order from the Income Tax Authority for FY 2021-22 with a total demand of Rs. 11,825 million (around Rs. 1,182.5 crore) including interest. The order was received on 23 January 2026. This is a continuation of an earlier intimation made in March 2025. The company plans to file an appeal before the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal and states there is no impact on financial, operational or other activities due to this order.
Tax demand of Rs. 1,182.5 cr is sizeable but appealable. Company sees no immediate hit; appeal outcome remains a key risk to track.
