GIC Private Limited, acting on behalf of the Government of Singapore and the Monetary Authority of Singapore, sold 960,808 equity shares (0.099% of share capital) of Max Healthcare Institute Ltd on 18 September 2025 through open market transactions. This brought GIC's aggregate holding from 5.912% (57,476,494 shares) down to 5.813% (56,515,686 shares). GIC is not a promoter of the company. The disclosure was triggered under SEBI's Regulation 29(2) because cumulative sales since August 2022 finally crossed the reporting threshold, even though this particular tranche was small.
For retail shareholders, this is a minor reduction in foreign institutional ownership and unlikely to materially affect the stock price on its own. GIC's gradual selling over the past three years may indicate some portfolio rebalancing rather than a negative view on the company specifically.
