On the reaction day the stock moved 5.0 pts less than Nifty Microcap 250 and 4.6 pts less than its Holding Company peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
Max India Limited's board has approved raising up to ₹80.35 crores through a preferential issue of 37,03,000 convertible warrants at ₹217 per warrant. Each warrant is convertible into one equity share of face value ₹10 within 9 months of allotment. The issue is being made to 7 allottees, including promoter Max Ventures Investment Holdings Pvt Ltd and 6 non-promoter investors such as Singularity Equity Fund I, P&Y Capital Trust, and others. After conversion, promoter holding will dip marginally from 41.15% to 40.24%, while Singularity Equity Fund I will see its stake jump from 0.08% to 4.20%. The funds will be raised in cash and are subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals.
The issue brings in fresh capital and adds a notable institutional investor (Singularity Equity Fund I), which is mildly positive for the stock. However, the promoter stake sees a slight dilution post-conversion, and warrants could exert some overhang if not converted within the 9-month window.
