Metro Brands' board, at its May 22, 2025 meeting, recommended a Final Dividend of Rs. 2.50 per equity share for FY25, subject to shareholder approval. This follows an interim dividend of Rs. 3.00 and a special dividend of Rs. 14.50 declared in February 2025, bringing total FY25 dividends to Rs. 20.00 per share (Rs. 476.35 crores payout). For FY25, standalone revenue grew 6.3% to Rs. 2,449.61 crores, but net profit fell 16.3% to Rs. 349.59 crores (EPS Rs. 12.85 vs Rs. 15.37). Q4 FY25 standalone revenue rose 9.4% YoY to Rs. 631.81 crores. A one-time tax reconciliation charge of about Rs. 25 crores linked to the FILA business weighed on FY25 profits. Auditors (SRBC & Co LLP) issued a clean, unmodified opinion on both standalone and consolidated results.
Strong shareholder rewards via total Rs. 20/share dividend (including a special dividend) signal healthy cash generation despite a profit decline. However, the sharp profit fall and one-time FILA tax adjustment may pressure the stock in the short term; investors should weigh the dividend yield against the earnings weakness.
