Unico Global Opportunities Fund Limited, a Mauritius-based FII, acquired 2,36,16,929 equity shares (7.93%) of MIC Electronics through market purchase on 11-12 April 2025. After the deal, Unico's holding rose to 2,41,16,929 shares or 8.10% of the paid-up capital, up from 0.21% earlier. The acquirer is not part of the promoter group. The transaction was disclosed under SEBI takeover regulations.
Foreign fund buying a sizeable stake signals rising institutional interest; holding near the 10% disclosure threshold may attract more buying or regulatory scrutiny.
