MMP Industries' board approved its Q1 FY26 (ended June 30, 2025) financial results. Standalone revenue from operations grew to ₹18,325 lakhs from ₹15,551 lakhs in Q1 FY25, an ~18% rise. However, the company reported a standalone loss of ₹699 lakhs (PAT) versus a profit of ₹988 lakhs a year ago, as a ₹1,729 lakh exceptional loss was booked following a major fire and explosion at its Umred Plant in Nagpur on April 11, 2025. Consolidated PAT also turned negative at a loss of ₹541 lakhs. An insurance claim has been filed. The board also appointed M/s. Vaibhav Jachak as new Statutory Auditor for 5 years, named a new Cost Auditor, and brought in two new directors, including a relative of the Managing Director.
The swing to a loss is entirely driven by a one-time plant fire event, so core operations remain profitable (₹801 lakh PBT before exceptional items). Investors should watch for insurance recovery and the timeline to restore Umred Plant capacity, as that will determine whether the loss proves temporary. The auditor change and related-party director appointment may also draw governance scrutiny.
