Monotype India Ltd reported audited results for FY25 with total income of ₹6,200.33 lakhs, a sharp jump from ₹1,059.67 lakhs in FY24, driven mainly by a surge in revenue from operations (₹6,196.91 lakhs vs ₹458.45 lakhs). Profit after tax rose to ₹1,256.35 lakhs (₹926.73 lakhs in FY24), with EPS of ₹0.17 vs ₹0.13. For Q4 alone, the company posted PAT of ₹662.80 lakhs against ₹205.26 lakhs in the year-ago quarter. The board also appointed a new Secretarial Auditor (M/s Suprabhat & Co.) for 5 years and a new Internal Auditor for FY26. The statutory auditor (B.M. Gattani & Co.) issued an unmodified opinion but flagged an Emphasis of Matter relating to a ₹287.78 lakh write-off from the company's exposure to Guiness Securities Limited, which has been declared a defaulter by NSE and is untraceable.
Strong top-line growth and improved bottom-line are positive, but shareholders should note that other equity remains negative at -₹7,195.99 lakhs, making total equity technically negative. The Guiness Securities write-off is a one-time hit already absorbed in the results.
