CRISIL Ratings has downgraded Munjal Showa Limited's long-term rating on its bank loan facilities of Rs. 144.25 crore from 'Crisil A/Stable' to 'Crisil A-/Stable'. The downgrade reflects CRISIL's revised view on the company's ability to meet its debt obligations. Separately, CRISIL has also downgraded and withdrawn the 'Crisil A2+' rating on the company's Rs. 6 crore commercial paper programme, since no amount is currently outstanding against that instrument.
The one-notch downgrade from A to A- signals reduced creditworthiness and could mean slightly higher borrowing costs for the company going forward. Shareholders should view this as a mild negative signal on the company's financial health, though the company still remains in the investment-grade category.
